Hampshire

Hampshire is a smaller town in northwest Kane County with a population of around 6,400. It is easy access from Route 47 to the I-90 Jane Adams tollway, and is about halfway between Chicago and Rockford. Since the late 19th century, Hampshire has been a popular farming community with a strong sense of patriotism. Residents have even served in the Civil War and World War II.

Hampshire is best known for the family-friendly fall festival at Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch. In addition to pumpkin picking, the venue also offers apple picking, a bakery, and a summer farmer’s market.

The Hampshire school system contains two elementary schools, Hampshire Middle School, and Hampshire High School. With a motto of “Proud Past…Promising Future”, residents can expect a tightknit town with a strong sense of pride, especially in their youth and young adults.
