Palatine is a northwest suburb of Chicago in Cook County, with a population of 70,000. Convenient access to IL-53 and I-90, as well as Route 12 and Route 14, make this town appealing to both residents and businesses. It is also a stop on the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line, running into Ogilvie Station in downtown Chicago. Palatine is neighbored by Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, and Rolling Meadows.

The city has experienced a large amount of business and residential growth in recent years. Palatine has seen a noticeable increase in building activity of single family homes, multifamily homes, and commercial buildings.

Palatine takes great pride it its education offerings with 10 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and the highly regarded Palatine and William Fremd High Schools. It is also home to William Rainey Harper Community College.

The Palatine Park District manages 28 parks, spanning a total of 623 acres. There is an additional area managed by the Salt Creek Park District that features a golf course, fishing, boating, and educational programs. You can also find a YMCA and a four mile pedestrian and bike trail.
